NRHA keeps Grandma close to her family

Jenny Leeson says her move to a Northamptonshire Rural Housing Association property in the village of Flore really does feel like coming home.

Not only has it brought 69-year-old Jenny close to her daughter, son and their families, but her father was born only 100 yards away from her new home!

“I’m really delighted to have moved into my new home in Flore,” she says.  “A bungalow is ideal for me as I have spinal problems which affect my mobility, and the location is absolutely perfect.

“My son and daughter live close by and I have six grandchildren, including two sets of twins!”

Jenny had been living in privately rented accommodation in Daventry but was forced out after her landlord told her he was going to sell the property.

She decided to bid online for a NRHA property and was delighted when she was offered the bungalow in Flore.

“The house where I was living wasn’t ideal for me as it had a spiral staircase which I was really struggling to cope with,” she adds.

“Having to move has been a blessing in disguise.  Although I’m determined to retain my independence, a bungalow will be much easier for me to manage.

“I really do feel at home here already.”
