NRHA helps dad get settled for Christmas
Dad Simon Herbert and his young daughter are pleased to be settling into a new home in the village they love in time for Christmas.
Simon, who looks after his four-year-old daughter, Abbie, for 50 per cent of the time, lost his previous home when his private landlord decided to sell up.
He was worried he’d have to spend a long time searching for the right property for him and Abbie. But, in fact, it was no time at all before Northamptonshire Rural Housing Association offered him a two bedroom property in Little Harrowden, within a stone’s throw of where his parents and sister live.
He says: “I love village life and I love Little Harrowden, and having family living so close by will be great for me and Abbie.
“The house it couldn’t be in a better location for me. Little Harrowden is a small village so everywhere is within walking distance. I used to live here with my parents so I have close ties to the village.
“I really do feel that luck has fallen on my side.”
Simon, who works as a machine operator for a steel manufacturing company, said the property was also ideally located for his commute to work in nearby Wellingborough.
He added: “It’s a lovely house and will be perfect for me and Abbie.”
