Food donation helps families this Christmas
Northamptonshire Rural Housing Association has been helping to ensure families don’t go hungry this Christmas.
During the past few weeks, Housing Services Assistant, Theresa Chamberlain, has asked colleagues to donate basic food items, such as pasta, rice, cereals and fruit juice, for the Trussell Trust Foodbank. A minimum of three days’ emergency food and support is provided by the foodbank for people experiencing crisis.
Now Project Delivery Manager, Philippa McKenna and NRHA mascot, Sherlock Homes, have delivered all the donated items to the foodbank, who were so grateful for the much needed food.
The Trussell Trust has built a network of over 420 foodbanks around the country. Last year it gave emergency food supplies to 1,332,952 people, as well as providing a host of support services including money advice to help people to break the cycle of poverty.
