Most of our homes are exempt from Right to Buy and Right to Acquire.  

This is because they’re in a rural area, and were built specifically for local people for now and for future generations.  

Right to Buy 

Right to Buy is a scheme for residents living in council homes, including homes that have transferred from a council to a housing association. The scheme enables eligible residents to buy their home at a price lower than the full market value.

Right to Acquire 

Right to Acquire is a scheme for residents of private registered providers of social housing to buy their home at a price lower than the full market value. It was introduced in the Housing Act 1996 and is now contained in the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008.
