Housing Needs Surveys
The Housing Needs Survey is the first step in the process of meeting the affordable housing needs of a rural community.
Housing needs surveys are carried out by the Association in partnership with the parish council to identify if there is a need for affordable housing within a parish or market town and will indicate the numbers, types of dwellings and tenures required by people living in the community.
The survey also gathers the opinions of local people with regard to the provision of affordable housing within the parish. The Parish Council will know whether or not there is support for a small affordable housing scheme within the local community and this will help them in deciding whether or not to move to the second stage of affordable housing provision – Land identification.
If you would like the Association to undertake a survey on behalf local parish please get in touch with us. All services provided to parish councils are free of charge.
